UX/UI Designer

• Contract till 3rd October 2025 with possible extension
• Attractive daily pay rate of $750 - $850 per day plus super
• Hybrid working (2 -3 days in Paramatta office + WFH)

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
You will be supporting enhancements for an award winning and critical digital product aimed to provide an easy, trusted way to find information for everyone living in NSW.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• UI Design & Prototyping: Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs using Figma, ensuring brand consistency, accessibility, intuitiveness.
• Interactive UI Development: Convert design mock-ups into functional, visually engaging web interfaces that enhance user interaction.
• User Experience Enhancement: Optimise performance across desktop, mobile, and tablet devices while conducting thorough usability testing to validate functionality.
• Responsive Code Implementation: Build dynamic, mobile-friendly web experiences using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Bootstrap (or similar) to ensure efficiency and scalability.
• User Research & Insights: Analyse user behaviour, pain points, and requirements to drive data-informed design decisions using HCD principles.
• User Flow & Persona Development: Create user personas, journey maps, and wireframes to enhance navigation and interaction.
• Cross-Browser Testing: Ensure a seamless and consistent experience across Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and other major browsers through rigorous testing.
• Usability Testing and Optimisation: Conduct A/B testing, usability studies, and user interviews to refine and improve digital experiences.
• Work closely with designers, product managers, and back-end developers to create cohesive, intuitive user experiences.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to refine site structure and ensure compliance with WCAG standards for accessibility and inclusivity.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Extensive experience in UX/UI within digital environments.
• Experience delivering designs that are not only visually appealing and user friendly but balance custom development and OOTB functionality.
• Highly skilled in HTML, CSS and JavaScript to prepare custom style contents.
• Proficient in the use of Figma.
• Experience with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA is highly desirable.
• Experience working in an Agile setting.
• Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to work under pressure.
