Store Manager

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Store Manager to run the daily operations at our Mad Mex Mexican food outlet on Bunda St, Canberra. This full-time role needs someone who is proactive and has a solid background in retail and store management. The right person will be in charge of improving store performance, leading the team, and making sure customers get great service in a busy environment.

Task & responsibilities

• Oversee the determination of the product range, monitor stock levels, and ensure service standards are met to maintain operational efficiency.
• Create and execute strategies for purchasing, marketing, and pricing to optimize product offerings and drive profitability.
• Plan and runt promotional and advertising campaigns to boost the visibility and awareness of the business’s products and services.
• Lead sales efforts by offering products to customers, providing expert advice on usage, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Maintain  accurate records of inventory levels, financial transactions, and other critical operational data for effective management.
• Develop and manage the budget for the establishment, ensuring financial targets are met and costs are controlled.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and develop staff to build a skilled team that supports the store’s needs.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, keeping a safe environment for both staff and customers.

Qualification & experience

• Previous experience in store or retail management, or senior leadership roles in retail operations.
• A solid understanding of convenience store operations and retail sales strategies.
• Strong skills in communication, team leadership, and customer service.
• Expertise in managing inventory, logistics, and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well and adapt in a fast-paced, ever-changing retail environment.
• Relevant qualifications in Retail, Hospitality, or Business Management are preferred.
