We're seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Payroll Administrator to join this dynamic tertiary team during a busy and exciting time of transformation.
This role is key to supporting the payroll function during a major merger and offers a unique opportunity to work with systems such as Service Cloud and PeopleSoft, handling high-volume processing in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Triage incoming payroll queries via Service Cloud and PeopleSoft, responding to routine enquiries and escalating complex matters.
- Accurately process payroll data including superannuation, salary sacrifice, deductions, backpays, off-cycle payments and terminations within required deadlines.
- Validate payroll data and participate in team checking to ensure accuracy of fortnightly pay runs.
- Identify and investigate anomalies such as incorrect payments, assist with developing repayment schedules, and maintain registers.
- Analyse validation reports and ensure timely resolution of errors for payroll compliance and auditing standards.
- Perform complex calculations for redundancies, entitlements, and employment provisions.
- Support end-of-financial-year processes including payroll data reviews and reporting.
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
- Experience in payroll administration or relevant discipline, or equivalent experience using complex HR systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, particularly in interpreting policy, legislation, and procedures.
- High attention to detail with outstanding time management and organisational skills in a high-volume environment.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, using sound judgment and initiative.
- Advanced computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
- Strong alignment with the values, mission and culture of the organisation.
Desirable:
- Experience using EmpowerHR software.
