Painters

We are currently seeking  multiple Painters to join our company, we carry out high quality domestic and commercial painting jobs. The scope of work we cover is quite broad so you will gain valuable experience in all aspects of painting and decorating. 

You will be undertaking the following duties:

• Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work 
• Make on site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
• Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scarping , using sandpaper, removing old paint
• Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster)
• Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tool
• Apply varnish and other finishes 
• Cover interior walls and ceilings with wallpaper or fabrics
• Calculate costs and negotiate prices
• Match paint samples for touch up and other small projects 
• Submit finished work orders to supervisor

The job will be full time (38 hours), with hours to be worked between 8.00 am and 5.30 pm Monday to Friday.

Successful applicants should have the following:

Qualifications:  

• Relevant Certificate III or Certificate IV or higher qualification preferred 
• At the minimum 1 year full-time work experience with qualifications or 3 years work relevant work experience in lieu of qualifications. 

Skills:    

• Assembling scaffolds
• Calculating quantities of materials required
• Cleaning surfaces prior to painting
• Filling cracks and holes with putty and caulk 
• Mixing paints
• Preparing estimates for customers 
• Priming surfaces scraping and sanding to smooth surfaces
• Selecting or recommending appropriate paint for the job

• Complete tasks on time 
• Deal with clients, suppliers and other employees professionally at all time
• Ensure workplace is clean and presentable at all times
