Kesari Enterprise Pty Ltd t/a Gullivers Wine Bar and Eatery in Cowes VIC is looking for chef with an exceptional skill in food preparation and kitchen management, ensuring high quality service and customer satisfaction. Ensures consistent food quality, cleanliness, and team collaboration in line with kitchen standards and service requirements.
Salary of $78000 to $90,000 + super for this full-time position.
As the Chef, you will undergo the following responsibilities and tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, cook and present dishes to specification and uphold presentation and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant work area (food safety & hygiene), and HACCP standards.
• Assist with daily prep tasks, stock rotation, and wastage minimisation.
• Support junior chefs and apprentices with training, direction, and supervision.
• Participate in menu trials, specials, and seasonal updates when required.
• Report equipment or supply issues promptly to the Lead Chef.
• Assist in menu planning, food costing, and inventory control
Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Diploma qualification or equivalent in substantial experience.
• Cert III Commercial Cookery & Cert IV
Experience Requirement:
• At least 2 to 3 years of experience in highly relevant role required.
Essential Skills:
• Good cooking and presentation skills
• Solid understanding of food safety, HACCP, and general kitchen procedures.
• Able to work in a team and lead a team.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills
• Maintain good health and hygiene.
• Ability to train cooks and junior staff.
• Great time management and organisation skills
