Due to increasing growth and restructure, we currently have an opportunity for a permanent position as an Accountant, based at our Glendenning facility.
Benefits
The position would entail an annual remuneration of $70,000 to $80,000 plus Super and other statutory benefits. Depending upon the performance of the individual and the company, there can be entitlement to annual bonus.
Tasks & responsibilities
Job Functions of Accountant: An Accountant at Mesh & Bar is required to work under the supervision and guidance of Finance Manager and other senior accountants and assist in the following areas:
- Preparation of financial statements following the AASB standard, steel industry standard, and other regulatory requirements, providing commentary on major expenses
- Preparation of the company's annual budget and review actual against the budget, identifying variance, and report to senior management periodically
- Full responsibility for the maintenance of the chart of accounts in MYOB
- Processing, recording & allocating purchases and sales entries in MYOB books.
- Monthly reconciliation of related entity accounts
- Reconciliation of Workers Comp (iCare) payments / accruals.
- Collation and preparation of Business Activity Statements and other relevant tax matters
- Assisting with lodgment of advance tax instalments including monthly PAYG
- Preparation of weekly cashflow statements and bank reconciliation
- Posting end of the month Journal entries to finalise monthly financial reports
- Performing all payroll reconciliations – expense and liability
- Assisting with computations and compilations of year-end tax liability and relevant schedules
- Manage customer invoicing and payment follow-up. This includes all the matters relating to the accounts receivable function of the company.
- Other duties directed by Finance Manager
Qualifications & experience
The successful applicant requires:
- Degree in Accounting/Finance/Commerce or any other relevant field.
- Minimumof two years of experience in accounts / finance line.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry / retail business is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in an ERP, Microsoft Excel and Office suite
- Innovative and problem-solving approach with strong attention to details
- Excellent communication style across all levels of the organisation
