The Role

Waverley Library provides a host of exciting and innovative programs and events and is working towards new ways to provide excellent customer service delivery. This role supervises and supports the three Library teams responsible for this: the ‘Library Customer Service’ team, ‘Events and Engagement’ team and the ‘Children and Young People’ team. The role requires budget and staff management experience as well as a ‘can-do’ attitude and a real desire to deliver the best Library service to the community.

About You

  • University level qualification in Library and Information Studies, Technology or other relevant area of study/experience
  • 2 years’ experience in customer service and/or program delivery, budget management, project management and staff supervision, with proven capacity to lead and develop staff within a library environment
  • Excellent technical skills and a high level of digital literacy
  • Proven ability to embrace change and engage, lead and inspire other to achieve outcomes for the benefit of the organisation and community
  • Proven experience in delivering quality customer service and a positive, professional, and cooperative approach to working with others.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to deal with difficult customers
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills with a flexible approach to work and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience in the creation and implementation of policies and procedures for organizational efficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals and organisations
  • Current Working with Children Check
