Type: Permanent full-time (Min 38hrs/week)

This is a permanent, full-time position for a skilled and motivated Chef who will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations. The role will involve preparing and presenting high-quality dishes, developing menus, managing stock and ordering, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.

The successful applicant will contribute to the overall success of the restaurant by maintaining consistency in food quality, training junior staff, and working closely with management to achieve business objectives.

Task & responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to: 

Plan, prepare, and cook menu items in line with restaurant standards

• Develop new recipes and seasonal menus that meet customer expectations
• Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
• Monitor portion sizes, presentation, and overall food quality
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and compliance with food safety regulations
• Order, receive, and store food supplies and ingredients as required
• Manage stock rotation and minimise food wastage
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, apprentices, and cooks
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures
• Collaborate with management to meet business and customer satisfaction goals

Qualification & experience

• Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents will be preferred
• Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Kitchen Management or a relevant qualification  or minimum three years of relevant work experience can substitute formal qualification (Diploma holder will be preferred)
• At least 1 year of full-time or equivalent  work experience in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations
